Day 10: Good bye to Kenya and Hello to Piglets

I woke early to watch the sunrise but like hazy days everywhere the sun didn’t break through with much drama. That’s ok! It was pleasant being up in a house with sleeping people and slowly and quietly starting the day.

I went back to my room to write and do my daily meditation and by the time I reappeared the table was filled with breakfast foods and beverages. I made some coffee and read on the front porch for a while until others got up for food.

There never seemed to be a problem with conversation. We had a lot to share and ideas about how to make things run more smoothly for The MoonCatcher Project. Sara said again that she’d like to teach our curriculum. That’s great.

After lots of group photos and hugs we left for Uganda. It was a long hot dusty ride but went without any problems. We arrived in Jinja five hours after leaving Kenya. After a shower we welcomed some down time and dinner.

The best news is that not only did pig Mama number 1 have piglets but Mama #2 did too. Nineteen babies await our return to Phoebe’s house. Each sow had ten babies though one didn’t survive. Of course we’ll send pictures when we get back there on Saturday
