Dine in to Help Out!

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018 the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady’s (UUSS) Social Action Committee is sponsoring the thirteenth annual Dining for Dollars fundraiser.  This year, we will continue supporting  the United Saints Recovery Project that helps residents still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina and  The MoonCatcher Project that provides menstrual kits to girls in Africa and India to help keep them  in school.

All materials and labor for Dining for Dollars have been donated. All of your donations will benefit storm survivors in Louisiana and help girls in Africa and India to stay in school.

Our dinners include: vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free lasagna, salad, garlic bread and a home-made dessert (dessert can also be gluten-free or vegan).

Here’s how it works:

On Wednesday December 12, 2018 we’ll make dinner for you. If you live in Schenectady or Saratoga, we will deliver your order to your house between 3 and 6 p.m. If you live elsewhere, you will be able to pick up your dinner between 5 and 6 p.m. at the UUSS, 1221 Wendell Avenue, Schenectady, New York.

We deliver to these area codes: Schenectady: 12301, 12302, 12303, 12304, 12305, 12306, 12307, 12308, 12309, 12325, 12148 and Saratoga: 12866.

Help us deliver to you. Turn your porch light on and leave a cooler for your delivery or tell us a safe place to put your food, and we’ll leave your order for you. You don’t have to dress up or go out. It all happens right in your house. You can put on your PJ’s and watch TV or you can invite friends and have a party.

We need your order by noon on Sunday December 9th.

Along with your meal you’ll receive a pre-addressed envelope. Put whatever donation you want into it and mail it back. ALL proceeds will go to our non-profit groups. ALL our food and supplies have been donated, so your money won’t be used for any overhead.
